Tide Tables

For each location, you can choose to view either:

-  today's tide predictions (actually today's and tomorrow's), or
-  a summary of the highest tides of the current year, or
-  a full year's tide table.

You should be able to print the full tide table directly from your browser (8 pages for the full table). Alternatively, if you prefer to download it and save it on your computer, right-click on the link and select "Save target as ..." (or "Save Link As ..." or whatever equivalent phrase your browser offers).

If you need any information about earlier years, or a preview of the predictions for future years, use the "Contact me" link in the menu to send me an e-mail.

Disclaimer: The times and heights presented in the tide tables are predictions only, and in practice may be influenced by actual river flow and the weather. Richard Jennings does not accept any responsibility in law for the information in these tide tables.

PUTNEY BRIDGE
Today's tides   Summary of highest tides
Full tide tables:    20232024

The main flood risk is along The Embankment upstream from Putney Bridge, where parking bays are liable to be flooded on around 25% of high tides. On the dates when this occurs (see Summary), the risk period is usually between 2 o'clock and 6 o'clock (a.m. and p.m.).

CHISWICK MALL
Today's tides   Summary of highest tides
Full tide tables:    20232024

The river often encroaches on to the roadway in Chiswick Mall at high tide, particularly near the junction with Chiswick Lane South by the brewery. During the highest tides, the road becomes impassable to many cars along the whole length from St Nicholas' church to the Hammersmith boundary at Miller's Court. For rowers and others in boats, these tables give the times at the upstream end of Chiswick Eyot.

STRAND ON THE GREEN
Today's tides   Summary of highest tides
Full tide tables:    20232024

In the village of Strand on the Green, it is the path of the same name that runs along the river bank where flooding is likely on the highest tides. Fortunately access to the three riverside pubs is always possible via Thames Road. For rowers and others in boats, these tables give the times at Kew Railway Bridge.

BRENTFORD
Today's tides   Summary of highest tides
Full tide tables:    20232024

Areas of Brentford that may flood during very high tides include Catherine Wheel Road, Brent Way, the quayside promenades at Ferry Quays, the riverside paths alongside the River Brent and the path across Johnsons Island between Thames Lock and the Brewery Tap. The tables show tide times for the Ferry Quays / River Brent area.

RICHMOND LOCK
Today's tides
[Summary to follow later]   Full tide tables:   20232024
The tidal information is for Richmond Lock, downstream from Twickenham Bridge (A316). There is a half-tide weir next to the Lock which controls the river flow between Teddington and Richmond to ensure that the river remains navigable at all states of the tide. In particular, upstream from the lock the river level is maintained at a minimum of 1.72 mAOD (metres above Ordnance Datum).
